In short, yes! We frequently deliver to hospitals. However, delivery procedures will vary depending on whether the delivery is by hand or nationwide. Both our couriers and our shipping partners are bound to abide by each hospital’s unique receiving policies.
- Hand Deliveries to Hospitals (in DC, NYC, and LA)
- For patient privacy, couriers and delivery persons are not allowed into patient rooms. In almost every case, we will be directed to a reception or flower desk. From there a nurse or hospital volunteer will typically take the flowers to the patient’s room.
- Note: In cases where the doctor has specifically stated that the patient is too critical to have flowers at their bedside (as is usually the case with cancer wards and the ICU), deliveries cannot be completed.
- If you know your recipient is in the ICU or Cancer ward, please wait to send flowers until they’ve been moved to Recovery or discharged to convalesce at home.
- To ensure prompt delivery, we encourage you to coordinate with a family member who will be at the hospital at the time of delivery. Please leave their contact information in the “Delivery Instructions” section of the checkout page. Our couriers will call or text them upon arrival to coordinate delivery.

- Nationwide Deliveries to Hospitals
- If the hospital you’re delivering to is outside our hand delivery zones, and is being shipped by a partner, we strongly advise you to wait and send a gift once the patient has returned home.
- Often, hospitals only accept deliveries from our shipping partners at their shipping & loading dock or mail center (along with all other hospital deliveries). This typically means your gift will not be available to your recipient when you receive your confirmation email. We rely on our shipping partners to complete the delivery and then on the hospital staff or volunteer corps to coordinate dropping off the package to its recipient. This means the gift may arrive a few hours or even a full day after the delivery is confirmed. Please bear this in mind when placing an order to hospital.

- Please be aware that with Hand and Nationwide deliveries, our packages require a small amount of unboxing and set up. A patient confined to their bed may not be able to trim the unbox, trim the flowers, and place them in a vase with water.
