Lilies are highly fragrant flowers that have a huge visual impact once they’re fully bloomed. Let’s talk through how to make the most of them.
As always, follow your basic flower care tips, which means trimming stems and changing the water.
Some key tips for lilies:
- Your flowers will arrive in bud form (meaning the flowers will be almost fully or fully closed at time of delivery.)
- Once the stems are trimmed and rehydrated, the blooms will typically begin to open in 12 - 24 hours. A warmer room can help to encourage blooming.
- With this in mind, please be aware that our lily bouquets will look their showiest and most impressive 24 - 36 hours after delivery.
- Some lilies (specifically double or rose lilies) don’t have pollen covered stamens in their centers.
- For asiatic lilies that do, you can trim these away with your shears or a pair of scissors.
- If any pollen gets on the petals, just brush it away with a soft pipe cleaner
- If any pollen gets on your clothes, it can stain! So don’t rub the pollen or get it wet. Instead, get a strip of adhesive tape and pull the pollen off.
- For asiatic lilies that do, you can trim these away with your shears or a pair of scissors.
- Lilies of all kinds are poisonous to animals if ingested, so keep them away from furry friends and little ones.
