We have good news! You aren’t alone – we actually ship all of our bouquets without water.
Our product team has done a lot of experimentation and study with shipping flowers “wet-packed” (meaning with a wet wrap around the stems or with water tubes). What we’ve found is that when we wet-pack flowers, they develop too quickly and don’t last as long for our customers, and they sometimes become rotten or moldy during shipping.
That’s definitely not the kind of experience we want to create for anyone receiving our flowers. So, we ship all of our bouquets dry. Importantly, our hydration processes and packaging are designed to make sure your flowers stay fresh and beautiful for up to 48 hours in shipping.
Once you receive them, just trim the stems with a sharp pair of shears or a knife and place them in water right away. They’ll rehydrate, and any closed or drooping blooms should begin to perk up and develop within 12 hours.
